OAU ATHLETES THREATEN TO STAGE A PROTEST ON MONDAY
For the past few days, sportsmen have been clamouring for the allocation of bed space and the payment of their outstanding allowance using the social media as a tool for the exercise .
Three public releases have been sent through the office of the director of sports, students' union, and their arguments have been countered by the Dean of the division of students' affairs.
In one of the public releases,  the SU director of sports made it known that the names of the athletes submitted haven't been given bed spaces. It was countered in a conversation with the madam DSA, saying that 'those names were submitted lately' .
In lieu of that, a meeting of all sportsmen was held around 12pm on Saturday, 20th of May. The meeting had over 60 athletes, the  head of the transportation committee, SU sports director and the SU welfare director  (representing the CEC members) in attendance.
Athletes expressed their grievances and many proffered solutions to their current challenges.
" it is your entitlement and the school should not be owing you under any circumstance"
                          - Hon. Baba tee
" we are no longer demanding for bed spaces but the restoration of the sports hall back to us. "
                       - Babalola Kadupe
" The Senate building entrance should be locked up. Come with your kits and you'll train at the front of the Senate building on Monday"
                     - SU Welfare director.

After much deliberations, they agreed unanimously to stage a peaceful protest on Monday, 22nd of May and if their requests aren't granted within the working hours of Monday, they will send out 350 occupants of Akintola hall of residence and replace them with the athletes.
