FORMER STUDENTS' UNION LEADER ASSERTS THE NEED FOR AN ACTIVE UNION.

As part of the programmes of the students' union for the freshmen orientation, a 'burn-fire' / Aro night was organized for the sensitization of the newly admitted students. This took place at Anglomoz car park in the late night of Tuesday, 23rd of May.
Present in the progamme were the SU central executive members, parliamentarians, past union leaders, students activists from other schools, freshmen and students of the varsity.
The event featured various performances by the students ; the Kegites' club, Awo boys and others. The president addressed the students on the achievements of his administration since inception and warned people who are interested in causing a division in the union to desist from such acts.
Also, Adeleke Olorunwa (Goddey),  the former Chief Security Officer of the Students' union in 2006/2007 in his address to the freshmen and Great Ife students encouraged them to uphold the tenets and cultures of the union by battling oppression in every way. He said,
" If any of you belong to any fraternity, you have failed your generation and the ones to come".
