  *THE OFFICE ELECTORAL PETITION*

*Resolution of the petition between Adeyemo Gloria (MAMA G) and the Electoral commission*

This is to inform the generality of Great Ife students that the Petition between Adeyemo Gloria (MAMA G) and the Electoral commission has been concluded and below are the resolutions of the hearing:

Due to the fact that the Electoral commission secretary was unable to give an admissible evidence that Adeyemo Gloria submitted her form late, however, the members of the electoral petition could prove otherwise sequel to Section 65, sub-section 3 which states that " At all executive council elections, no candidate shall be returned unopposed at the closing of the first nomination round."

Hence, the members of the electoral petition could also prove that the nominations, due to the fact that it was discovered unopposed should be extended sequel to the provisions of section 65, sub-section 4 which says "For the purpose of sub-section 3 of this section, nomination shall be extended for the period of 72 hours in respect of the post or posts affected" which contravened the 24 hours extension given by the Electoral commission for all offices.

Therefore, below are the verdicts given:

1⃣ That the re-run election should be conducted by the Electoral commission for the post of the hall chairperson of Alumni Hall within 72 hours, and

2⃣ That the office should be declared vacant prior to the conduction of the re-run election.
