As acting VC sets to leave this month, OAU gets new Governing council.

Following the dissolution of the varsity's governing board in 2016 and the tenure of the acting VC Prof Elujoba expires in few days, the Federal government has appointed officials to form the new council, which is to last for four years as announced by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu.

As a reminder, the old governing council was dissolved for irregularities in the selection of Prof Salami Alabama as VC after the departure of Prof Tale Omole which caused the uprising by both SSANU and NASU on campus decrying this act which got the attention of the FG and the dissolution of the governing Council headed by Prof. Rowland Ndoma-Egba.

The new council will be headed by Dr Yemi Ogunbiyi, a former lecturer in the department of drama and literature in the university . The appointment also made provisions for an assisting board comprising of Adekunle Sanni, Felix Madubuike, Muhammed Bello and Inowei Akono.
